Customer Background
China Jushi Group is a global leader in the glass fiber industry, with the world's largest annual glass fiber production capacity. In 2017, Jushi Group deployed an intelligent manufacturing base in Tongxiang, aiming to build an unmanned factory and promote the construction of a smart factory for glass fiber electronic cloth, achieving digital, networked, and intelligent production.
Enterprise Needs
The pallets used in Jushi Group's internal logistics are custom metal pallets, and the unique pallet design poses significant challenges to logistics automation. To improve automated handling efficiency, Jushi hopes to introduce Lanxin Technology's unmanned forklifts to address the shortcomings of the existing system in pallet recognition and handling efficiency, achieving fully intelligent handling.
Project Challenges
Pallet Recognition Difficulty: Jushi's production line uses 3-4 types of custom metal pallets with irregular shapes. Conventional laser recognition or non-intelligent vision solutions struggle to meet the high precision requirements for pallet detection in automated systems, affecting the safety and accuracy of unmanned forklifts.
High Forking Difficulty: Pallets often deviate during handling. Unmanned forklifts need to accurately recognize the position and orientation of pallets and goods and autonomously adjust angles to achieve precise forking and handling operations.
Solution:
Lanxin Technology deployed an unmanned forklift solution based on an intelligent vision system for China Jushi, equipped with MRDVS's PalletPro pallet recognition system. The system provides high-precision depth data through a 3D ToF camera, detecting the specific position and orientation of pallets in real-time, ensuring that unmanned forklifts can accurately recognize and autonomously correct deviations. Combined with Lanxin Technology's unmanned forklift technology, the system can handle various pallet shapes and position deviations, achieving fully automated and efficient pallet handling.
Project Outcomes
This solution successfully addressed the challenges of irregular pallet recognition and forking in Jushi Group's internal logistics, significantly improving handling efficiency and system stability, and supporting the smooth progress of Jushi Group's intelligent manufacturing base. By combining unmanned forklifts and intelligent vision technology, Jushi has further achieved a fully automated material handling process from raw materials to finished products on the production line. This reduces errors and costs associated with manual operations and significantly improves the operational efficiency of the factory.
