Project background

In the logistics center of an automobile manufacturer, it is necessary to automate the stacking management of cages containing stamped parts. Each cage has a single layer height of 1.6 meters and needs to be stacked with four layers, with a total height of 6.4 meters. The weight of stamped parts loaded in each cage exceeds 1 ton, so this project puts extremely high requirements on the high-precision docking and safety of the stacking process.

Solution

In order to achieve automated stacking, MRDVS provided the project with a 3D visual basket stacking solution. Through the 3D visual camera M4 Pro installed on the intelligent forklift, the relative posture of the cages is automatically recognized, and the forklift is guided to perform high-precision basket stacking. The system can detect and adjust the position and angle during the stacking process in real-time, ensuring that the gap between the cages is less than 5mm, and the stacking is accurate and safe.

Key technologies

Multi-layer stacking: The system supports four-layer stacking of single-layer 1.6-meter-high cages, with a total stacking height of 6.4 meters.

High-precision docking: The relative posture of the forklift and the material cage is calculated in real-time through the 3D camera to ensure that the recognition error of the material cage leg is less than 5mm during the stacking process, ensuring the stability of the stacking.

High-weight load: The solution can safely handle cages weighing more than 1 ton, and docking accuracy is controlled at the millimeter level to ensure safe stacking under high load.

Safety Protection and Abnormality Alert: The system is equipped with a safety protection mechanism to monitor possible abnormalities in the stacking process in real-time. If the detected deviation of the bit position exceeds the safety range, the system will trigger the program of docking again, and the forklift will back up to identify and dock again, or the abnormal alarm will prompt the forklift operator to deal with it in time to prevent the dangerous situation during the stacking process

Project results

With MRDVS's 3D visual basket stacking solution, the automotive manufacturing factory's logistics center achieves an efficient and safe automated stacking process. During each layer of cage stacking, the system ensures millimeter-level accuracy, safely and stably completing multi-layer stacking, improving storage efficiency, and effectively reducing manual intervention.
