Project Background
At the logistics center of an automobile manufacturing plant, there is a need for automated stacking management of containers filled with stamped parts. Each container has a single-layer height of 1.6 meters and requires four-layer stacking, reaching a total height of 6.4 meters. Each container carries stamped parts weighing over 1 ton, thus the project demands extremely high precision and safety during the stacking process.
Solution:
To achieve automated stacking,MRDVS provided a 3D vision container stacking solution for this project. By using the 3D vision camera M4 Pro installed on the intelligent forklift, the system automatically recognizes the relative pose of the containers and guides the forklift for high-precision stacking. The system can detect and adjust the position and angle in real-time during the stacking process, ensuring that the gap between containers is less than 5mm, and the stacking is precise and safe.

Multi-layer Stacking: The system supports four-layer stacking of containers with a single-layer height of 1.6 meters, achieving a total stacking height of 6.4 meters.
High-precision Alignment: The 3D camera calculates the relative pose of the forklift and the container in real-time, ensuring that the recognition error of the container feet is less than 5mm during stacking, thus guaranteeing stacking stability.

Safety Protection and Anomaly Alerts: The system is equipped with safety protection mechanisms to monitor potential anomalies in real-time during the stacking process. If a pose deviation beyond the safe range is detected, the system will trigger a re-alignment procedure, where the forklift retreats for re-recognition and alignment, or an anomaly alert will prompt the forklift operator to handle the situation promptly, preventing dangerous situations during stacking.
Project Outcomes
Through MRDVS's 3D vision container stacking solution, the logistics center of the automobile manufacturing plant has achieved an efficient and safe automated stacking process. During the stacking of each layer of containers, the system ensures millimeter-level precision, safely and stably completing multi-layer stacking, improving storage efficiency, and effectively reducing manual intervention.
